What Should Be Britain’s #1 Priority for Reform?
Britain is crying out for change — but where should reform begin? We want to hear directly from you. If you could fix one thing first, what would it be?
Below are a few of the biggest issues people raise with us every day. None of them exist in isolation, and all are connected — but priorities matter. Read through, pick the one that matters most to you, and tell us what you would do differently.
Cost of Living
Families are being squeezed from every direction: higher taxes, higher energy bills, higher mortgages, and stagnant wages. Many people feel they are working harder each year just to stand still.
Reform UK has argued for raising the income tax threshold to £20,000 so low earners keep more of what they earn, alongside cutting VAT on domestic energy bills. Is that the right place to start — or should government spending be cut first?
Illegal Immigration
The system feels broken. Border control has collapsed, asylum costs are spiralling, and enforcement is weak — yet ordinary taxpayers are expected to pick up the bill.
Should stopping illegal migration be Britain’s top priority? And if so, what actually works: leaving international legal constraints, ending hotel accommodation, deportations, benefit restrictions, or something else entirely?
NHS Backlogs
Millions are waiting for treatment, GP appointments are hard to get, and staff morale is low. More money has been poured in — but outcomes keep getting worse.
Is the NHS a funding problem, a management problem, or a structural one? Should reform mean more competition, more accountability, or a complete rethink of how care is delivered?
Crime and Policing
Many communities no longer feel safe. Shoplifting is effectively decriminalised, violent crime goes unpunished, and police are too often diverted away from frontline work.
Should restoring law and order be priority number one? What would actually deter crime: tougher sentencing, more police visibility, faster courts, or fundamental reform of the justice system?
Your Turn
There is no “wrong” answer — but there is a right conversation to have.
